Becky Smith: Director of Operations and Lead Clinician

Playing Experience: UMD Starting Shortstop (2014-2018) racking up UMD top records for games played (60 season),  Doubles (22 season, 59 career), RBIs (67 season, 207 career), Total Bases (136 season, 431 career), and assists (136 season).  Named an All-American following 2018 season.

Coaching Experience: Minnesota Vortex & A's (Fall 2019-Present), PWYSA (Summer of 2019), TC Fastpitch Clinician (Winter 2020-Present).  Becky's Summer 2021 14U Team took 2nd place at the Great Lakes National Championships in Peoria, IL in July.

Mike Carter: Head Coach - Owner

Coaching Experience: Minnesota Vortex & A's Director, Founder, and Coach since 2005. TC Fastpitch Director and Founder since 2012.  Orono High School Varsity Coach 2012-2019 - Three MSHSL State Tournament appearances and three time MSHSL Section Coach of the Year.  Former PWYSA President. Mike has coached many teams that complete at a Naational level. Mike's Summer 2021 18U Team was 5th place  at the World Fastpitch Championships in Kansas City. (highest finish for any Minnesota team in the history of this tournament)
